Blushing girl

Only a couple of more days until the wedding!  I’m so excited for Saturday, and am full of joy, butterflies, nostalgia, eagerness, and anticipation.  Please stop by early Saturday morning for a personal invite to the wedding.

P.S.  I graduated.

I just wanted to post a short update (while I’m taking a little study break) to say hello, and that things are really picking up steam over here.  Our to-do lists are being made longer, and the errands are being ran, as I am trying to finish my last few weeks of school.  Thankfully J has been a trooper groom – figuring out our soon-to-be future by apartment browsing, shopping for a new car, bank visits, etc.  Not to mention he’s arranging all the music for the wedding and planning a luxurious honeymoon!  All to say he is doing a great job keeping track of such things on his trusty iphone.

My list is a bit more sprawled out, made of scratch paper and ink blots, with words such as: Shoes. Showers. Flowers. Napkins. Invites. RSVPs. Cake. Favors. Coffee. Tea. and Garter. (It’s humorous to read “get garter” on a lengthening list, and helps lessen the stress just a bit). :)

We will be headed out to Portland on Friday for J’s extended family shower.  Soo excited.  Updates coming someday.  As for now, pray for strength to beat out my sniffles and for my ability to finish school well.  Miss you all!  Can’t wait to be a good little Denver blogger soon.

So excited to be married!  25 days!

George Gershwin is one of my all time favorite musicians.  Everytime I hear his song, “Rhapsody in Blue,” I am immediately filled with inspiration and my own narritives.  This video from Fantasia 2000 is one of my favorite shorts, and I’m drawn to the simple color palette and crisp linework.  For Jameson’s birthday, bought him and myself tickets to go see the Seattle Symphony play Gershwin’s best music.  The progam is going to play selections from Porgy and Bess,  Swanee, Prelude II, Rhapsody in Blue, Gershwin in Hollywood, Embraceable You, Funny Face, and An American in Paris.  We’re going to go Saturday night, and I’m really looking forward to it.   Go check out Gershwin on iTunes, and tell me what you think!

I wanted to share with you a special treat I received in the mail from a sweet store called Anthropologie.  Isn’t this cute?  :)  I celebrated my 22nd birthday this Sunday, and it was a very special day.  I was actually born on Mother’s Day, so it was nice to share my last birthday at home with my mom.  We spent the day as a family, and went to watch a certain movie together.  Have any of you seen it?  I also got to spend a wonderful Saturday evening with my best girls, with dinner and a movie.  I couldn’t be more blessed!

Also, an extra birthday treat is coming home right now to me!  That’s right folks, Jameson comes in tonight to finish our long distance adventures!  We’ll finally be done with saying goodbye, the first time in 4 years.  Plus, his birthday is this Thursday, so stay tuned to see what I got for him!

Yes or No?

Ok folks, what are your thoughts on Katy Perry?  Her pop songs are so catchy, yet controversial.  Do you think her lyrics are in anyway satirical?  Or just for fun?  I adore about half of her cute, vintage, fashion statements.  Her goofy personality is honest and makes me laugh.  But is she real?  Scandalous?
Cute?

Share your opinion!  (Oh, and check the new addition to the sidebar, Music Lovers!)

I am head over heels in love with these images.  I adore worlds within small spaces.   The thought of being miniature fills me with sweet imagery of sailing in walnut shell boats, gliding from dandelion achenes, wandering through forests of clover, swimming in seashells, and burrowing in moss blankets.

Wouldn’t these be gorgeous on one’s nightstand?  I would love to doze off while looking at these pockets of underbrush.

I just thought I’d take some glam shots of my friend and share them with you.  Remember her?  Well, after many long nights of trying out creative names (thank you for all of your wonderful suggestions!), our little feline adopted the name…. Whitey.  Or YT.  Or PYT as I like to call her. :)  Actually, I call her a lot of nicknames, but Whitey is the real one that stuck, and hopefully soon she will travel with us to Denver in a little basket.

p.s. Did anyone ever own one of these growing up??  I certainly did.

Happy May Day.

Ivory Florets

I wanted to give another little peek at what some of my pretty girls are wearing this June…  We just recently picked out the flower girl’s dress, and I’m looking forward to see all of us standing together!  Time is moving at a rapid pace!  Where the heck has April gone?!

Dresses from here and here.

As spring came on, a new set of amusements became the fashion, and the lengthening days gave long afternoons for work and play of all sorts.  The garden had to be put in order, and each sister had a quarter of the little plot to do what she liked with…  Meg’s had roses and heliotrope, myrtle, and a little orange tree in it.  Jo’s bed was never alike two seasons, for she was always trying experiments.  This year it was to be a plantation of sunflowers, the seeds of which cheerful land aspiring plant were fed Aunt Cockle – top and her family of chicks.  Beth had old – fashioned fragrant flowers in her garden, sweet peas and mignonette, larkspur, pinks, pansies, and southernwood, with chickweed for the birds and catnip for the pussies.  Amy had a bower in hers, rather small and earwiggy, but very pretty to look at, with honeysuckle and morning-glories hanging their colored horns and bells in graceful wreaths all over it, tall white lilies, delicate ferns, and as many brilliant picturesque plants as would consent to blossom there.
