Raindrops and Seedlings
October 17, 2007 by blazedanielle

Good morning, and happy Wednesday!
Today in the Seattle area it is raining and pouring, and by every means it is officially autumn - which is all right with me, as I do have a wonderful green and white umbrella to keep me dry. My window has been speckled with quite a few raindrops this afternoon and it makes me want to get all cuddled up with a nice cup of silver needle tea.
Another reason the season change is official is because of the beautiful plants that are going to seed! I have made it a point to do some collecting, and I have been finding so many! On every walk, I find at least 3 new pods, kernels, or pits, and my collection is growing quite nicely. I have never actually looked this closely, but the details are delicately fascinating. My boy is also sending me some acorns and other things from California, and I can’t wait to add them to my gatherings!
It’s also interesting how a lot of shapes repeat in different plants.
Each day, I am finding that I love autumn more and more. Between wool coats, boots, umbrellas, and seeds, the new season is a very nice change. Oh! And before I forget, since I’m speaking of fall, I will give a sneak peek for tomorrow’s post. This is a small part of a new watercolor painting I am doing:
Enjoy the day!!

Wow Blaze!
Your collection of pods is so beautiful!
I absolutely adore all those little artworks from nature. It is so great that you are collecting them.
I also wanted to thank you so much for leaving me a comment about the series from my last posting.
It makes me so happy!
Thank you again!!!
Elsita :)
