I have 7 drawers, and will show you what is in each!! (Apologies for the poor photo… muggy days = muggy picture taking!)
Drawer #1: Little Junkies
This is The closest thing to my junk drawer. It has the little necessities to crafting: tape, glue sticks, fabric paint, color swatches, whiteout, glue gun, scissors, etc. This drawer is for those “need to reach fast” items. And I let this one get messy sometimes… (everyone needs some sort of junk drawer!)
Drawer #2: Most Used! (FAVORITE CONTENTS!!)
This drawer is my favorite little treasure chest. I have my watercolors, watercolor pencils, brushes, pens, inks, palettes, everything. MMM! I love how they can all fit together too! I love boxes, and things that contain smaller things, so I made a point to make these buggers fit together! Interesting fact: In all my etsy paintings I like to use a limited palette of one red, one yellow, and one blue. I love making all my secondary colors by hand. I have a warm and cool of each color. Also, I bought that little vintage pencil tin at a 2nd hand store, and have loved it ever since. Sometimes it comes along for adventures in my purse!
Drawer #3: Surfaces and More Pencils!
Because the contents of this drawer are quite heavy, I have them in the bottom drawer. :) Lots of papers and inspirations get placed in this one. Also, I love my handy colored pencil carrier. It is totally prepped for taking on drawing dates!
Drawer #4: High Tech!
This middle top drawer contains all my electrical techy stuff! Ipod, camera, waacom tablet, software, etc. It’s nice to have up top so I can reach for that gadget whenever I need it!
Drawer #5: Banking Goods! (no… not baking goods… I wish!)
Practical stuff in here…. receipts and the like. :) I tried to make it pretty with photoshop… Did it work? ;)
Drawer #6: Correspondence!
This drawer has stationary, envelopes, papers, stickers, stamps, and pretty much all the love needed to write a friend (or etsy customer!) My favorite stationary EVER is the bottles and the fish stickers. So special!
This drawer is for my big guys! Turpenoid, gesso, adhesive spray, oils, inks, minerals, etc. All for painting and making. The brown box has all my oil paint stacked inside! Believe me – it’s the heaviest drawer by far!
And that’s it! My art world! It works for me, but I know there are plenty of other great ways to organize! (I envy all of you people with art studios!!! Someday I will do a post of my own lovely studio… but this is what I have now!)
Enjoy your day all! Thanks with your patience with my cold! :) Stay healthy!!!

Well done Grasshopper!

Wow, I love it! Now will you please come over to my place and organize my stuff? Thank you.
I love the color of your desk! I have always loved vintage green color.
i love to organize. i find it very relaxing. i can reorganize my books over and over.
i like posts about organizing too, especially when thet include pretty green desks. i love it!
Hahaha! I laughed out loud with the grasshopper comment! I wish i was this organized and that my little room looked and felt like my own! You are most blessed my dear.
Thanks for your comment on my blog. I’m enjoying reading yours too…and I LOVE that desk. You did a great job on it!
You have a wonderful art space and you know what? That is your studio. I love the way you have everything organized. It’s a great space!
Thank you for sharing this post! We recently moved, and I have a room that I want to use as my creative space, but to be honest, I lost motivation for decorating it. Your photos were very inspirational. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this little tour through your desk and organizing system, Blaze!! I am so envious that you have a complete desk for art-making! ;) hehe. But I’ve now got some ideas for how I can reshuffle my sewing desk (the “work” area; my other desk is pretty much taken up by my laptop) and the small cabinet I have next to it. I daresay if I had my watercolors and other supplies close at hand, it wouldn’t be such a “chore” (if art can ever be a chore! hehe!) to get everything out and put it away again. ;) I’m definitely linking to your post tomorrow!! :)
Hope you’re having a lovely Thursday!
COOL!
This was wonderful Blaze! I love how you’ve organized everything by frequency of use also. Very inspiring. I love all of your little paints and brushes too…aren’t art supplies fun?!

I adore the color you painted your desk. How lovely it looks with flowers and cute vintage items on top.
Your desk is such a beautiful green I love it! You are so organized that is very impressive!
This is such a fun post! I love to see how other people organize their workspace! Your desk is lovely – my desk is just a plain table, so I’m jealous of your drawers. Its fun how you are able to decorate it yourself, and you seem so organized, too!
