In addition to vacationing in California… I was put to work as well! ;) Here is the finished product of My boy’s first music recital poster, painted and designed by moi!
I have his permission to post all this info, so it’s up to you not to be creepy and stalk him. :) But he did say, that perhaps it might be nice to have a bigger audience on the big day! So if you’re in the area, and if you’re a good detective, you too are invited! :)
And classes were great today! Thank you for the well wishes! There will be lots to debrief as soon as I get my bearings!
p.s. To all your regular commenters: How are you digging the evening posts?? Do you like morning or evening better? I’m very curious which is more successful/enjoyable! Let me know!

What a great poster! Your boy is so lucky to have you paint it for him. I like all the different grasses in the front and the wavy banners.
It doesn’t really matter to me when you post. I catch up on all my blog reading in the morning if I have time, or evening if I didn’t have time. So either is good for me. :)
why yes, dano is awfully fitting ; )
can we have table setting name tags at our tea party… and can ours read dino and dano? perfect.
can’t wait! OH! and i’ve said this in person but i’ll make it clear on here too: I love this piece! its fabulous!
good luck jameson!
i won’t stalk you. i promise!
So cool, Blaze! What a gorgeous poster!
You should definitely try ACEOs out! The only requirement is that they are 2.5 x 3.5. Other than that, use your imagination and have fun! I love the little things!
This is such wonderful work, Blaze! I can’t imagine how much more special it was to have it made by the one he loves :)
I ususally check up on my daily blog reading first thing in the morning, so I suppose the night posts work well for that, though often I can’t help but check again at lunchtime or in the evening when I get home from work.
Ok…let me just start by saying, “I’m so glad you’re back!” It’s funny how we get into a rhythm of doing things (visiting certain blogs and looking forward to it) and when it isn’t there, it’s just a missing piece of the puzzle. :) I enjoy your blog and am delighted to see some new posts. It was neat to see how your image that you doodled in the courtyard evolved into the recital poster for your boy. It’s great! Your Home Again collage is lovely! Coffee sleeves are so cool - quite the new thing! Well, welcome back, thanks for the comments on my blog and for following and good luck with your new semester starting! Tah Tah!
Nicole :)
Blaze, that is a wonderful poster! I wish I lived near you and I would be sure to go.
Thank you for your kinds words on my blog. I love the song Clare De Lune too.
Fabulous poster! I’ve never wanted to go to a tuba recital more…
^-^ I hope it’s a big success!
Love it. I wish him luck! And I love posts at anytime… *B
Oh!!! I love your poster design, Blaze!!! How sweet of you to do that for him too. Awww… ;) hehe!
As for posting times: I tend to prefer morning/early afternoon posts. I’m more awake then (being a morning person!). But I honestly love to read your posts so much, that sometimes I’ll save them for the next morning so I’m not sleepily reading them ;)
What a great poster, your boy must be so pleased, wish him a happy recital from me!
As for posting times it doesn’t matter at all to me, I get them at funny times, it’s just lovely to see what you are working on each day :)
I love Strauss but I’m afraid Seattle is a little too far from PA. Hope he has wonderful turnout!
this poster in wonderful!
isn’t he lucky to have you as his girlfriend? :)
Gorgeous poster! How great to be able to make something like this for your boy, I hope it goes well.
[...] Boy’s dear friend who is also a musician wanted me to do a little recital poster for him too ! I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. :) I wanted to capture a similar style, while [...]
