Yesterday evening, a small group of us went downtown for “First Thursday,” which is once a month, on the first Thursday of the month (hence the name). A ton of galleries are open all over, and artists get to show their work proudly, as the Seattle art community observes and contemplates the beauty around them. It was very fun and inspiring, as always. This time I was particularly fond of the beautiful work of…

You can see her website here and her blog here. I love the way she combines different animals with plants which form into “implausible hybrid creatures,” (said from her artist statement). Overall, it was a fantastic evening!
Also, I have been thinking for a while, and I wanted to say a huge
to all of my blog readers!! You guys are the best, and I just wanted to let you know how much each and every comment means to me! :) Your blogs are incredible, and your hearts are even more beautiful!!
I hope you all have wonderful weekends!! Rest lots, create much, and get ready for some more fun to come next week!

Thanks for sharing Amy Ross’ work. Awesome.
Hope you have a fabulous weekend, too! :)
ah genius! i am glad you found her blog… looks like i will be adding that to my list of artist on blogs!
i have had such a lazy morning!!! eek! mostly just scanning the internet for things and pretty pictures haha. i’m such a hermit.
Amy is a wonderful artist!
I hope you have a great weekend too! I just love your blog and I’m glad to know you are a fellow curly! :-)
Great artist, Blaze! I’ve never seen her work before. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for always visiting my blog also – i think the comments mean as much to me as they do to you. :O)
As for putting pictures in wordpress, with links…once you have the picture in your post (still in composition), you click on the picture, then in the tools menu, click on the hyperlink icon (looks like a sideways figure 8 – to the right of it will be a broken hyperlink/broken sideways figure 8) Once you click on it, a pop up box will open and allow you to enter the address for the link. Save it and viola! You have now created a picture with a link. Let me know if you need any help with that if I wasn’t clear enough.
have a great weekend!

Thank you so much for posting about my work! I had such a great time in Seattle and am really happy to be showing out there. And it’s great to discover your blog!
Her work is so pretty and unusual. Her watercolor technique is dreamy :) Sounds like such a great time, I wonder if they have anything like that in my neck of the woods… Seattle’s just cool like that I guess.
“First Thursday” sounds like so much fun. I haven’t had too many chances to go gallery hopping in quite a while…too busy being Mommy. I’ll get back in the swing of things eventually. Thanks for bringing some of it to me through your blog!
Thank you for sharing those pictures of Amy Ross’ work. Her art really is lovely and I’m so inspired!
Thank you for dropping by my blog and leaving comments for me! I really enjoy reading your comments and it means so much to me too. I love your blog and I’m so glad I came across it. You have such a cheery, warm personality and my day is always better after reading your posts.
Happy Friday!
I love the little bunny one, so cute!
You’re welcome! And I love your blog to death, it is very inspiring.
In other news, I love that little pod bunny. Wouldn’t it be splendid if there was an actual tree full of them, and it bloomed in the winter, releasing bunnies in the spring?
First Thursday sounds like alot of fun. I wish we did something like that in my city.
Thanks for sharing the links to Amy Ross’ work.
And thank you for your kind comments about my jewelry pouches!
Have a wonderfully creative weekend.
gorgeous art! very seasonal!
Oh what beautiful work, I can certainly see why you love her work Blaze!
I have to agree with Nicole, thankyou for all your sweet comments. I love that my blogging circle of friends are so refreshingly supportive :D
Those are incredible pictures. I’m sure she would be just as inspired by your work Blaze. Take care and have a great weekend.
Thanks for sharing this! What beautiful art work. I too love the mix of animals and plants.
Wow, this is incredible work! I love that bunny popping out of the rose bud, Amy Ross is so clever!
I love your blog, deary! I’m so glad I found you!
oh! what beautiful artwork! one of the local towns has a “first friday” every month, when all the galleries and wine shops are open. I keep meaning to go, but the weather has been so icky. hehe. you’ve inspired me to be more diligent about it–who knows when I’ll stumble across some “new” artist who inspires me!
hope you had a lovely weekend, Blaze!
