This morning is a bit overcast, slowing me down to a snailish pace, as I prepare for the day. E. H. Shepard’s illustrations capture today’s chilly morning for me, and make me excited to create.
And so I’m off to my studio nook, with tunes of Helio Sequence in my head, making my beat this morning. Thank you for all of your sweet comments about my vacation photos. :) There is something about open landscapes that are so peaceful; I think that Mr. Shepard understood that too.

I whole heartedly agre… His Pooh has always been my favorite.I’ll have to check out Helio Sequence when I get home this evening. Have a lovely day creating…
What a pretty bit of rain! I wish I could head off the my “studio nook” but it’s off to work for me. Have a lovely day creating things.

The Winnie book I have are black and white illustrations, so this was nice to see in color
I would give anything for a cool rainy day here. Instead the air outside feels like a steam bath and the grass in the yard is dying. Oh well… these illustrations cheered me up. :)
Through these I feel the chill too…the top one is so perfect!
such nice drawings indeed.
Love the owl illustration!
I love rain days! They are certainly beautiful pictures!
I’m curious to see what you come up with today. I agree, Shepards illustrations are so calming and peaceful!
These are so lovely – the rain is such a sweet touch.
in my home state theres no such thing as a warm rain these pictures make me feel a little damp and chilly cheeked. which leads me to thoughts of warm coffee!mmmm
I love these illustrations! Great blog:)
Blaze, you have incredible taste in music. I listened to some Helio Sequence and I LOVE it! And I couldn’t agree more on loving (and drawing inspiration from) those illustrations from Winnie-the-pooh. I bought the collected works of A. A. Miln so I could have all of the illustrations handy – they’re magical and calming.
